Volunteer in Bermuda
How can you help children who are over 5000 miles away? Easy! There are many ways that you can start, today, helping children in Nepal in serious need:
- Journalists – can you do two articles or press releases for us each year? If so, email Marthe.
- Become a member of one of the many sub-committees. Each of the Managers in the Club need dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers who can help them with their particular role. Want to join up? Look at the list of Managers, and email the one that you’d like to work with on their sub-committee.
- Join a website sub-committee, and help Tom with site updates and initiatives. If you have IT experience and a web design background, email Tom.
- Not sure where your skills would best help out? Then email Lorraine, our Volunteers Manager, and ask her what opportunities are available and tell her what your skills are. She will try to find a ‘match’ between your skills and the Club’s needs.
- Help coordinate supplies when an urgent request goes out. Simply give your name and email address to the Bermuda Volunteers Manager, and when an urgent need is identified we will email you with a request and you can begin to coordinate tracking down the required supplies.
- Develop your own fundraising event or sports challenge. If you have a great idea of your own for a fundraising event, contact Alex, our Fundraising Manager, who will be more than happy to help you if you need it. Examples:
- Throw a dinner party and charge guests for dinner – donating the proceeds to The Kathmandu Kids Club
- Embark on a cycle challenge or a marathon and collect sponsorship
We’ll help you collect donations on line and report on your progress during the challenge.
- Help out with organising and running events. Give your name to our Events Manager, Nicola and when an event is organised you will be contacted to choose how you would like to participate in giving your time to make the event a success!
- Offer your services to the Club. Register your particular service with the Volunteers Manager, and we will call on you when that service is needed. The service can be as simple as proof-reading and editing a document, or using your shipping company to transport vitamins to Nepal. Maybe you can offer to cook for an event, or provide catering or some donated items for our events. Perhaps you can print some of our marketing materials for free. In return your company will be listed as a Contributor on this site, and we will all be forever grateful!
- Contribute materials, supplies or technology. If you own/run a company that sells materials, supplies or technology that would benefit children in Nepal and you would be willing to make donations, please contact us for a list of our needs. How about donating a filing cabinet and 500 manila folders so we can set up our office with a dedicated Club cabinet? In return your company will be listed as a Contributor on this site.
Are there any conditions to being a volunteer? Only that we need volunteers to focus entirely on the needs of those we serve – children in serious need in Nepal. They are our greatest priority, and their needs dictate the work we do. We need reliability, dedication, energy, and happiness!
