Urgent Needs Now

Courier a Care Pack to Nepal!

We need some items in Nepal that we cannot buy there. If you want to quietly contribute, just courier a pack of goodies to Mr Pema Tsering, Manager – ISIS Children’s Homes, The ISIS Foundation, Mahankal VDC – 9, Siddji Colony, Mandikhatar, Kathmandandu, Nepal, Phone No: 977 (1) 437 9134. Please do not post these items as this is not secure and things may not arrive safely. Also, send an email to Leonie telling us what you’ve sent, so that we can chase it for you. Here’s what we need: plastic bottles of children’s vitamins from reputable suppliers; beautiful new or very good quality used books for kids up to a reading age in English of about 9, or in Nepali of up to age 17; documentary/non-fiction DVD’s – nature programmes and so on (we have enough entertainment DVDs, thanks); books on raising children, for the library we are developing for our Home Parents and care staff; for our office – books on management techniques; post-it notes that stick properly (!), and office stickers such as the ‘sign here’ stickers, and arrows.

Children’s Vitamins

We need vitamins for the children in Nepal – tens of thousands of them! To date we have been carrying them over in our luggage when we go to Nepal, but the needs are now very great, and we are looking for someone who can encourage a pharmaceutical company to donate, and post, vitamins into Nepal. These kids are very undernourished and vitamins are critical for their health. Every child needs 365 vitamins a year, and at the moment we are linked to partner organisations in Nepal which are caring for around a thousand children – that’s 365 000 pills each year! If you can help us with this by writing a submission to a sympathetic company which makes children’s vitamins, or have some friends who work in such a company, please email Leonie.
