Nepal newspapers and websites are closely monitored by the King, who, in February 2005, sacked the Government, and took control of the country, as he is in charge of the military. For a period of time all telephone contact and internet contact with Nepal was shut down. Now the country is online again, but there are severe restrictions on what is allowed to be published. With that in mind, here are some websites linking to Nepali newspapers:
The Nepali Times comes out once a week in Nepal, on a Friday. It is considered to be the best English language paper in Kathmandu, and the most honest – they are very brave to publish as they do!
The BBC Online often has great articles about Nepal – they have no Nepali restrictions on their coverage! Check out the news section, under South Asia, for Nepal articles:
