Statement of Accounts
The Kathmandu Kids Club has raised a fantastic total of $960,716 from inception in April 2006 to December 31, 2010, from supporters in Bermuda and around the world.

In 2006 we raised a total of $76,535. $50,327 came from our generous patrons, members & donors of the club and an additional $26,208 through the auction and sales at our launch event in September 2006. These funds were used to support the ISIS Children’s Foundation in Kathmandu, housing 136 previously trafficked children.
In 2007 we raised a total of $147,630. $70,092 came from our generous patrons, members & donors of the club and also an additional $51,816 through the auction and sales at two fantastic fundraising events held at Gosling’s Wine Cellar in May and December of 2007. Reid Robinson and Rachael Rothwell raised $6,876 for their Annapurna Trek in November 2007 and $18,846 had been raised to date by our intrepid Charity Challenge Trekkers who climbed to Base Camp Everest in March 2008.
During 2007, $77,970 of these funds has been sent to help with The ISIS Foundation’s projects. $5,315 was sent to The Woman’s Foundation, $6,735 was sent to Hands in Outreach, $4,361 was sent to the Himalayan Medical Foundation, $16,952 was used for Kiwoko Hospital funding and $44,607 was used by the ISIS Children’s Foundation in Kathmandu.
In 2008 we raised $362,888! The Charity Challenge team who hiked to base camp Everest raised $194,000. Amazing result! We received another generous donation from Just for Laughs, Bermuda in the amount of $18,000. We also received over $10,000 from a tremendously generous family, who between them donated to KatKids in lieu of Christmas gift giving. What a wonderful thing to do!
During 2008, $56,497 of these funds has been sent to help with The ISIS Foundation’s projects. $5,236 was sent to The Woman’s Foundation, $7,510 was sent to Hands in Outreach, $5,957 was sent to the Himalayan Medical Foundation and $5,572 was sent to The Himalayan Innovative Society which works to reunify and repatriate children living in the ISIS Kids’ homes in Kathmandu with their families in the villages of Humla. $722 was sent to the ISIS Tibetan Doctor’s programme, $1,000 was transferred to a discretionary fund which is used to support individuals in need and $30,500 was used to support the The ISIS Foundation for their work in managing, overseeing and ensuring compliance of all the ISIS projects in Nepal.
In addition to the funds sent to The ISIS Foundation projects, $17,218 were allocated towards the costs of the Christmas Market.
In 2009 we raised $112,664. The KatKids Christmas Market raised nearly $80,000 (some of which came through in 2010) and was attended by almost 700 people! Over 40 local companies and individuals contributed goods and services, over 60 volunteers gave their time and expertise and more than 300 plates were served!
During 2009, $126,476 of these funds has been sent to help with The ISIS Foundation’s projects. $41,709 was used in the running of the ISIS Kids homes in Kathmandu, which includes $3,000 to purchase a motorbike and camera, $28,126 was used for Kiwoko hospital funding, $22,556 was sent to the Himalayan Children’s Society in Yalbang towards running costs and hostel operational costs, $18,875 was sent to Hand in Outreach to support Nepali staff salaries and provision of healthcare on an as-needs basis, $12,958 was sent to the ISIS Tibetan Doctor’s programme to cover the costs of medication and transport for people in Humla. Expenditure of $2,252 is related to bank fees and charges.
In 2010 we raised an amazing $261,019! Approximately $213,000 had been raised by end-2010 by the ISIS Trek for Kids. In October 2010 fifteen team members trekked through villages in Humla surpassing their original goal and raising over $200,000 by the time their trip commenced. A further $36,000 was raised from the KatKids Christmas Markets events which were once again a tremendous success and attended by over 600 people.
During 2010, $195,900 of these funds has been sent to help with The ISIS Foundation’s projects. $62,911 was used in the running of the ISIS Children’s Foundation in Kathmandu, $27,072 was used for Kiwoko Hospital funding in Uganda, $49,010 was sent to the Himalayan Children’s Society in Yalbang towards running costs and hostel operational costs, $3,825 was sent to Hand in Outreach, $8,711 was sent to the ISIS Tibetan Doctor’s programme to cover the costs of medication and transport for people in Humla and $2,052 was sent to the Himalayan Medical Foundation. $20,886 was allocated towards research work being conducted in Humla by the ISIS Research Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, Kimber Haddix McKay. $20,213 was spent on the new ISIS Humla offices in Simikot and Nepalgunj to enable ISIS to run its projects in Humla directly and $1,220 was related to bank fees and charges.
