Janet Peckett and Jennie Lee O’Donnell
Bermuda – Birthday Party
Somewhere “South of the Border” a mechanical bull, musical performance by Tim Peckett and the rest of the band The Go Down Berries, copious margaritas and a Mexican buffet made for a fantastic evening for the “40 Something…Again” joint Birthday party of Janet Peckett and Jennie Lee O’Donnell on Saturday September 24, 2011. Generous sombrero wearing partygoers donated $3,780 to KatKids in lieu of presents to the birthday girls.
2010
Somersfield Academy
Bermuda – Various Events
For the 2010-2011 school year, Somersfield Academy selected KatKids as their Global Charity and held a variety of fundraisers to support us, including making and selling prayer flags, a mini-market selling Nepalese items, a donut sale, a smoothie sale, and a “denim day.” Approximately $2,235 was raised for KatKids through these school events. Additionally, bulletin boards displaying information and photographs of Nepalese people and scenery were located throughout the school. Presentations were made to students by two of the trekkers who participated in the 2010 Nepal trek for kids. Namaste, Somersfield Academy!
Kathie Knox
Bermuda – Dinner Party
On October 27, 2010, Kathie Knox held a gorgeous and delicious Nepalese Feast at the Spanish Point Boat Club. Authentic Nepalese food was served and photos from the 2010 Humla Trek were shared. Around $700 was raised for KatKids. Many thanks, Kathie!
Sebastian Cronin
Bermuda – Birthday Party
When Sebastian Cronin celebrated his 8th birthday on October 2, 2010 with several of his friends he asked everyone to make a contribution to KatKids instead of giving him a birthday present. Everyone took part and Sebastian collected $300. The boys had a great day and they were happy knowing that the donation was going to such a good cause!

Isabella Boonstra
Bermuda – Birthday Party
Isabella Boonstra celebrated her 9th birthday party on December 5, 2009 and collected $235 for KatKids. She and her friends had a great time dancing and singing to the Black Eye Peas, while helping our Nepalese children. Many thanks, Isabella!
Matthew Nagel
Bermuda – Birthday Party
6-year old Matthew will soon be moving to the UK, so he had an early birthday party to celebrate with his Bermuda friends. On June 27, 2009, they took a trip to Dockyard to visit the dolphins at Dolphin Quest. Completely unprompted by his parents, he decided to ask for charitable donations instead of presents and the $230 he collected was donated to KatKids. Thank you, Matthew!
Somersfield Academy
Bermuda – Various
Somersfield Academy 6-11 students held a Grub Day fundraiser for KatKids in January 2009 which raised over $200 for the Club. This was followed by a hotdog fundraiser in May 2009 which raised almost $450.
Sophie Clare
Bermuda – Birthday Party
On April 25, 2009, Sophie Clare had a ‘Mamma Mia’ themed birthday party with a dancing competition and fashion parade. All the girls dressed in ’70s outfits and held a costume competition. In all this fun, an amazing $530 was raised for KatKids!
Warwick Academy

Warwick Academy held a BBQ fundraiser for KatKids in March 2009 and raised over $350 for the Club.
Matty Copeland
Bermuda – Birthday Party
For their son’s first birthday on March 21, 2009, Matty Copeland’s parents asked friends and family to bring donations to KatKids instead of presents.

Jackson Lang celebrated his first year of life on February 21, 2009. His parents asked family and friends to make a donation to KatKids instead of buying the one-year old birthday boy a present.

Derek Stapley
Bermuda – Lectures
On November 26, 2008 and March 11, 2009, Derek Stapley gave entertaining lectures at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute about his volunteer experience at a Nile crocodile research project in Botswana. Partial proceeds from the events were donated to KatKids.

Almost $5,000 was raised during a rootin’ tootin’ time at Janet Peckett and Jennie Lee O’Donnell’s “Forty Something” Wild West themed birthday party on September 20, 2008.

UK – Ultra-running
Chris raised approximately $1,000 for KatKids when he completed the North Face CCC Ultratrail run on August 28 and 29, 2008. This event is a grueling 98 kilometer run through the Alps.

A tournament organised by Tim Shave where the players donated to KatKids at the end of each event (June 2008).
Chris Clarke
Belgium – Road Race
Chris Clarke ran the Brussels 20k road race and collected $750 in sponsorship for KatKids (May 25, 2008).
Aleksandra Henderson
Bermuda – Art Auction & Party
On April 26, 2008, Aleksandra Henderson very generously auctioned off 18 of her paintings during an exciting night of art, charity, and dancing at Deep nightclub. Nephila Capital and Fulcrum Limited matched the purchase price of her paintings. This fabulous event raised $70,000 for KatKids!

Bermuda High School’s “Grub Day” raised just over $1,000 for KatKids (April 25, 2008).

On April 5, 2008, Megan held a party for friends and family who supported her on her trek to Mt. Everest’s base camp.

On September 27th, 2007, Mr. Sundaram Tagore allowed ‘Friends of The Kathmandu Kids Club’ to use his amazing Sundaram Tagore Art Gallery, in Chelsea New York, to hold a ‘Nepal Night’ with a silent and live auction, to try to increase awareness for the children in serious need in Kathmandu. Tom Quinn and PPC
Bermuda/USA – Photography
During the course of a business trip Tom Quinn, one of the KatKids Volunteer Managers and a keen photographer, took a number of photos of the offices of Project Performance Corporation (PPC), which were seen by their CEO, Mike Nigro. Mike asked Tom if he would take some photos for the walls of the various PPC meeting rooms. Tom agreed on the basis that PPC would contribute to KatKids for every photo they used. PPC ended up donating $5000 (May 2007).
Tom Quinn and the Lightning Squash Players
Bermuda – Squash Tournament
Tom organised a quarterly tournament where all the players donated to charity at the end of each event. All proceeds were donated to KatKids.
