Our Fundraisers
Fundraisers raise money for the club by hosting events such as parties, dinners, dances and receptions or by obtaining sponsorship for a particular challenge like a walk, run, climb etc. Join the growing number of people who have thrown parties in aid of the KatKids Club or who have created their own sponsored challenge.
A party could take the form of a kids’ party where people bring donations instead of presents – or it could be a champagne/wine tasting party or a Nepali dinner dance.
Challenges could involve one individual obtaining sponsorship for his/her favourite challenge, or they could involve many people joining forces in a group sponsored activity.
For parties we can give you a kit of goodies to help with your party, either via e-mail or on a CD and DVD. Email Alex for more information.

| Isabella Boonstra | Bermuda | Birthday Party | Isabella Boonstra celebrated her 9th birthday party on December 5, 2009 and collected $235 for KatKids. She and her friends had a great time dancing and singing to the Black Eye Peas, while helping our Nepalese children. Many thanks, Isabella!

| Matthew Nagel | Bermuda | Birthday Party | 6-year old Matthew will soon be moving to the UK, so he had an early birthday party to celebrate with his Bermuda friends. On June 27, 2009, they took a trip to Dockyard to visit the dolphins at Dolphin Quest. Completely unprompted by his parents, he decided to ask for charitable donations instead of presents and the $230 he collected was donated to KatKids. Thank you, Matthew! |

| Somersfield Academy | Bermuda | Various | Somersfield Academy 6-11 students held a Grub Day fundraiser for KatKids in January 2009 which raised over $200 for the Club. This was followed by a hotdog fundraiser in May 2009 which raised almost $450. | ||
| Sophie Clare | Bermuda | Birthday Party | On April 25, 2009, Sophie Clare had a ‘Mamma Mia’ themed birthday party with a dancing competition and fashion parade. All the girls dressed in ’70s outfits and held a costume competition. In all this fun, an amazing $530 was raised for KatKids! |

| Jackson Lang | Bermuda | Birthday Party | Jackson Lang celebrated his first year of life on February 21, 2009. His parents asked family and friends to make a donation to KatKids instead of buying the one-year old birthday boy a present. |

| Isabella & Jacques Boonstra | Bermuda | Art for Sale | At their father’s party on December 14, 2008, Isabella (age 8) and Jacques (age 5) spontaneously decided to recruit all children at the party to draw some pictures. All of the drawings were placed on a wall and put on sale for guests with Kat Kids being the beneficiary. Their lovely artwork raised $62 for the Club. |

| Derek Stapley | Bermuda | Lectures | On November 26, 2008 and March 11, 2009, Derek Stapley gave entertaining lectures at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute about his volunteer experience at a Nile crocodile research project in Botswana. Nephila Capital and Fulcrum Limited matched the purchase price of her paintings. This fabulous event raised $70,000 for KatKids! | ||

| Mr. Sundaram Tagore | New York | Auction | On September 27th, 2007, Mr. Sundaram Tagore allowed ‘Friends of The Kathmandu Kids Club’ to use his amazing Sundaram Tagore Art Gallery, in Chelsea New York, to hold a ‘Nepal Night’ with a silent and live auction, to try to increase awareness for the children in serious need in Kathmandu. | Tom Quinn and PPC | Bermuda/USA | Photography | During the course of a business trip Tom Quinn, one of the KatKids Volunteer Managers and a keen photographer, took a number of photos of the offices of Project Performance Corporation (PPC), which were seen by their CEO, Mike Nigro. Mike asked Tom if he would take some photos for the walls of the various PPC meeting rooms. Tom agreed on the basis that PPC would contribute to KatKids for every photo they used. PPC ended up donating $5000 (May 2007). | ||
